MediaPRO and Pitch International will jointly sell exclusive media rights in the US market for the South American Qualifiers to the FIFA World Cup 2022, to be hosted in Qatar.
Federations included are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela.
Argentinian sports rights agency Torneos and Pitch International had previously created a joint venture to market the rights of the Argentine qualifiers and Brazil qualifiers that they owned respectively.
MediaPRO who acquired the rights to the qualifiers for Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile had been working alongside other rights-holders CaracolTV (Colombia), Servisky (Ecuador), GolTV (Peru) and ON SITE Producciones (Venezuela).
This new arrangement brings together all the rights-holders to allow for a co-ordinated approach to the US market.
The package of rights on offer includes home and away matches and features world-class talent such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and James Rodriguez.
Mauricio Correa, General Director Rights LATAM at MediaPRO, said: “The South American Qualifiers have a strong following in USA, and MediaPRO and Pitch International taking a collaborative approach with the rights distribution will allow fans in the region to see more matches and benefit all of the federations involved.”
Sunil Kaikini, Managing Director of Rights at Pitch International, said: “We’re pleased to be working with MediaPRO and all of the other rights-holders for what will be one of the most competitive and highly-anticipated qualification campaigns of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
The opening round of the qualifiers begins 26 March 2020.
