Leading New Zealand cricketer, Kane Williamson, has been announced as a global ambassador for Dream11, a fantasy sports platform based in India. Williamson is currently captain of the New Zealand Cricket team in all three formats, the number two ranked Test batsman in the world and Captain of Indian Premier League team the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Dream11, who became the first Indian gaming company to enter the ‘Unicorn Club’, allows its 50 million plus users to play fantasy cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball and hockey.
The start of the partnership coincided with the beginning of the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup, where Williamson is leading New Zealand, and will run through the 2020 IPL season and beyond.
The deal between Dream11 and Williamson, who is a partner of Pitch's athlete representation business, was brokered by the Commercial department at Pitch International.
