Pitch International is delighted to announce its appointment by The Football Association to distribute the worldwide broadcast rights for The Barclays FA Women’s Super League (WSL).
Pitch won the tender process held by The FA having secured three international broadcast deals in recent months, with these deals the first of their kind in women’s domestic football. Now representing the exclusive global rights, excluding UK and Republic of Ireland, Pitch has the opportunity to build on the 13 overseas territories it’s already generated.
Tom Gracey, The FA’s Senior Broadcast Manager said: “Pitch International has a long standing, exceptional track record selling international broadcast rights, and they’ve continued to demonstrate this with the deals already secured for The Barclays FA Women’s Super League.”
“The league is going from strength to strength and Pitch’s network will allow us to continue The FA WSL’s exciting growth, taking the league to more fans around the world. The FA and Pitch International have a longstanding partnership and we’re thrilled to strengthen that through this agreement.”
The partnership represents another milestone for Pitch International’s Women’s Sport Division, which earlier this year won the rights to the all-female motorsport championship, W-Series. These rights were distributed to more than 110 territories in its first year.
Henri Kamerling, Managing Director of Sales at Pitch International, said: “It’s been very rewarding to help The FA WSL’s ongoing development and we are extremely pleased to continue on that journey. We’re proud to be able to help drive women’s football forward and optimistic about opening up further opportunities for The FA WSL.
“It’s been a big year for the Women’s Sport Division since its launch earlier this year and this represents another exciting development.”
Pitch International’s Women’s Sport Division delivers a range of services including media distribution, commercial sponsorship, event management and player representation.
