The first matches of the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour in 2019 have been confirmed, with the five-time FIFA World Cup champions to face Panama and Czech Republic later this month.
Porto will play host to Brazil’s encounter with Panama on March 23rd, before the tour shifts to Prague for a 1962 World Cup Final reply against Czech Republic.
The double-header will be a chance for Brazil to continue their run of strong performances, having won their last six straight matches.
The first encounter will be held at Estadio do Dragao, where Panama will be desperate to record their first win against the South American giants.
The tour then shifts to Eden Park Stadium, in what will be the first game between Brazil and Czech Republic since 1997.
The most famous of their previous clashes came in the 1962 final, with Brazil triumphant 3-1 over what was then Czechoslovakia.
Pitch International’s Director of Events and Football Services, Anthony Bloch, said the matches were highly anticipated by players and fans.
“It’s the first opportunity to watch Brazil play this year, and we know in such passionate football markets there’s going to be a lot of interest,” said Bloch.
“The matches will be highly competitive. We’ve seen Brazil go undefeated since the FIFA World Cup 2018 and with the Copa America scheduled later this year, they’ll be wanting to maintain their current momentum.”
